Your CDESK must be version 3.2.12 or later. Your administrator will confirm this, and it is advisable to confirm this before doing anything else – an older version will not be compatible with any settings you configure on your end.
Your account requires a licence for the MCP server, which is currently free of charge. A charge is planned from the version expected to be released in April 2027, and this applies to every user account.
Your AI application must allow custom connectors. These are usually part of a paid plan – for Claude, these are the Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans. If you’re using the application via a business account, the administrator may need to enable them first.
You’ll need your CDESK login and password – exactly the ones you use for CDESK – and your CDESK address: the one you use to open CDESK in your browser, including https:// and with nothing after it.
It depends on how your account is set up. Your login and password work everywhere. If 2FA is enabled for your account, you must have Microsoft (Entra) sign-in enabled in CDESK and log in using the ‘Sign in with Microsoft’ button. This button is available for the CDESK MCP cloud service and when running on your own server, but not for a local installation on your own computer – that only accepts a username and password.
You see exactly what your CDESK account sees. If any field in CDESK is disabled or your account does not have access rights to it, it is also unreachable for the assistant. The simple rule is: what you cannot see in CDESK, the assistant cannot see either.
