Your CDESK must be version 3.2.12 or newer. Your administrator will confirm this for you, and it is advisable to verify this before anything else – an older version will not work around anything you set up on your side.
Your account needs a licence for MCP server, which is currently free. Charging is planned from the version expected to be released in April 2027, and applies to each user account.
Your AI application must allow custom connectors. These are usually part of a paid programme – for Claude these are Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise programmes. If you use the application through a company account, your administrator may need to enable them first.
You need your CDESK login name and password, exactly the ones you use in CDESK, and your CDESK address – the one through which you open CDESK in your browser, including https:// and with nothing after it.
It depends on how your account logs in. Login name and password work everywhere. If your account has 2FA enabled, you must have Microsoft (Entra) login enabled in CDESK and you log in with the Sign in with Microsoft button. This button is available with CDESK cloud and when running on your own server, but not with installation on your own computer – that accepts only name and password.
You see exactly what your account sees in CDESK. If any area in CDESK is disabled or your account does not have rights to it, it is unavailable to the assistant as well. The simple rule is: what you do not see in CDESK, the assistant does not see either.
