CDESK allows you to monitor service availability. This feature is enabled in the section Global Settings → Requests → Basic Settings → CMDB Items section, where you can enable SLO / Service Availability and also configure other settings related to service availability.
- SLO / Service Availability – Enabling this option makes the Service Selection on Requests feature available and displays the Service Availability tab in the service category items. If availability measurement is active (see related setting Service Selection on Request → By Request Type), it will be possible to record the actual start and end times of the event.
- Display service availability – monthly or annual service availability in the request details, displayed as a percentage. Both monthly and annual availability are always displayed in the service details.
- Service selection on request – permission to add items to a request that belong to the Services category in the CMDB configuration database. This setting is available only when the SLO / Service Availability option is enabled. When set to Optional or Mandatory, it will be possible to select services for all request types regardless of the settings in the By Request Type section. The setting by request type will be applied when selecting the value Custom.
- By request type – for each request type, it is possible to set whether service selection will be mandatory, optional, or disabled. For each request type, it is also possible to enable display of service availability measurability. This setting applies if you select the option Custom when setting the scheduled start time.
- Default setting for ‘Affects service availability’ – determines the default state of the Affects service availability switch on the request. The switch will only appear in the request if service availability monitoring is active for the selected request type.
- Automatic CI selection by service area – when enabled, the Service Areas tab becomes available on items in the Services category. On this tab, you can specify for which service areas the service will be automatically added to the request. Enabling this option allows you to control the selection of services in requests solely by selecting a service area (adding, changing, or removing a service).
- Show notification about existing requests for the item – when enabled, a notification will appear about the existence of open requests with the selected item.
