You create a new user group in the list of groups by clicking the + Add user group button located in the top right-hand corner. The form for the new group opens, divided into several tabs – which tabs are displayed depends on the environment configuration and permissions (e.g. Request categories, CM IT Monitoring or Warehouse are displayed only when the relevant features are enabled). The meaning of the individual fields and settings on all tabs is described in the Group settings tabs section.
On the Basic properties tab, first fill in the group’s identification details — above all its name. These details make the group clearly recognisable in the system, as its name is displayed both when assigning users and when setting permissions.
You create the group by clicking the Create button. Some parts of the form become available only after the group has been created, because they are bound to an existing record – in particular permissions, history and audit. Therefore, create and save the group first and only then continue with its more detailed configuration. After the group is created, set the scope of rights that all members of the group will inherit on the Permissions tab. This is precisely the purpose of a group — permissions are set once and all its members take them over. So that you do not have to set them from scratch, they can be copied from another existing group. Then, as needed, assign users to the group, place it in the group hierarchy and set the visibility of data. The configuration of the individual tabs is described in detail in the Group settings tabs section.
