The Users and Groups module allows you to manage all accounts with access to CDESK and control what individual users can see and do within the system. In one place, you can create users, assign them access rights and organise them into groups, allowing you to set permissions in a centralised and clear manner.
Each user is an account with login details, a set of permissions and a link to one or more groups. Groups serve as carriers of common permissions – instead of setting access rights for each person individually, you set them once at group level and all members of that group take them over.
Key features:
- User account management – creating, editing, deactivating, deleting and cloning accounts in one place.
- Group hierarchy – nesting groups within one another (parent and child groups) with permissions inherited downwards.
- Organisation modelling – list of organisational structure, including supervisors and subordinates.
- Data visibility management – specifying which companies, branches, request service areas and categories of requests an account can view.
- Access control via permissions and inheritance – settings for permissions at both group and individual levels, with the option to specifically extend or limit access to an individual account.
- Substitution – granting access to data via a proxy whilst the user is absent.
- Licence overview – list of allocated licences and monitoring of their usage.
