Within the Request Catalog widget in the Home Overview of the CDESK system, you can use the My Favorites and My Frequently Used request template features. Assigning templates to these groups allows you to filter out less frequently used templates. This enables users to access the most commonly addressed requests more quickly and easily, saving them time spent searching for templates.
When viewing templates, you can choose from one of three available views:
- All – displays all available request templates based on the configuration of the request catalog tree
- My Favorites – displays only request templates marked as favorites
- My Frequently Used – The 20 most frequently used request catalog templates are displayed in descending order (by frequency of use). Template usage is tracked based on the number of requests created from a given template, with this number recorded separately for each CDESK system user.
Only one filter can be active at a time; clicking on another view will deactivate the previous one.
My favorite templates
As part of the My Favorites feature, a star icon is available on every request template tile, located in the upper-left corner. Clicking this icon allows you to add the tile to your favorites.
If a tile is marked as a favorite and contains additional template sub-levels, clicking on that tile will display the next level with all available templates. If there is exactly one request template under the marked tile, clicking it will automatically load the form to create a request from that template. Tiles are displayed in the sections My Favorites in the order in which they were marked as favorites.
You can remove a template from your favorites by clicking the star icon next to the template again.
My Favorites
The my most frequently used section displays the request templates that a user most frequently uses to create requests. The list is generated automatically based on the number of requests created using each template. The number of times a template is used is tracked separately for each system user.
This section displays only templates—that is, the bottom-most level of the requests catalog tree—and shows the 20 most frequently used templates. Clicking on a template automatically loads the form for that specific requests template.
